JOSE Z. ISIDRO Founding Chairman (1989-2007)

A truly seasoned and experienced insurance professional who started his insurance career in the late 60’s as the Senior Vice-President & Director of one of the biggest multi-national companies in the country—F.E. Zuellig (M), Inc. He was tasked to handle the insurance group as President for both Zuellig Insurance Brokers, Inc. and Ultramar Reinsurance Brokers, Inc. Because of his leadership and successful management of the insurance groups, he was later on assigned to Singapore as the Regional Director for Asia and Pacific of the Zuellig Insurance Group Pte Ltd. He retired in 1989 and he subsequently formed Interbroker Insurance Consultants, Inc. and became its Chairman of the Board; a distinguished career spanning over 50 years which was cut short when he passed away in April 2007.

RALPH LIEW, SENG LOONG Chairman of the Board

He started from a humble beginning as a technical teacher under the Malaysian Ministry of Education and shifted his career to become a Life Insurance Agent of American Int’l. Assurance Co., Ltd (AIA), Malaysia. He worked all the way up the corporate ladder and became Vice-President and Director of Agencies of AIA, Malaysia. He was Director and General Manager of Jerneh Insurance Ltd., Hong Kong and CEO of Jerneh Insurance, Malaysia. He established one direct insurance company and two insurance and reinsurance broking outfits in the Philippines. At present, he is the Chairman of Medifast (Malaysia), IARFC Phils. And in Malaysia as well as Executive Director of IARFC, Thailand.

EDWIN L. SONEJA, Chief Executive Officer

With over 36 years insurance experience, Mr. Soneja started his insurance career with a local insurance company. He moved on to become a junior Fire Surveyor in a leading American firm – AFIA; Int’l. Insurance, where he was quickly promoted to Senior Fire Surveyor and then to the position of Asst. Fire Underwriting Manager. The lure of the exciting world of reinsurance lead him to various top positions in leading insurance and reinsurance broking outfits belonging to San Miguel Corp. and the Kuok/ Shangri-La Group of companies.

He was a founding director and officer of top reinsurance broking firms in the Philippines. He completed various insurance training and diploma courses both locally and abroad, adding to his vast knowledge and experience on insurance and reinsurance.

Mr. Soneja is also one of the founding members of the Reinsurance Exchange Club of the Philippines which continues to be a leading association of insurance professionals in the Philippines.

He is an Executive Director among others, of the Philippine Branch of U.S.-based Int’l. Association of Registered Financial Consultants (IARFC) that offers financial planning courses in 12 countries, with thousands of highly successful financial planning professionals as graduates and members worldwide.

NESTOR E. VARELA Chief Operating Officer

A holder of two degrees - Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Accounting (CPA) and Bachelor of Laws (LLB). He started his insurance career as Internal Auditor of a local insurance company before he joined as chief accountant of Ultramar Reinsurance Broker belonging to the Zuellig Group. He later on became its Finance and Administration Head. In 1992, he joined Interbroker as manager and was promoted as the Executive Vice-President/General Manager.

LYDIA K. PABLICO Accounting Division Head

Since she started her career in the insurance industry, she has always been in the accounting and finance department being a BS Accounting graduate. She worked with Filipino Merchants Insurance Co. as one of their accounting staff and in the 90’s joined Interbroker as an accounting staff and slowly rose from the ranks.

NEDELINE C. LACHICA Marketing Manager

A Business Economics graduate, she started at Zuellig Insurance Broker, Inc. in 1982 as Policy Clerk and was promoted to Marketing Assistant. Eventually she was transferred to Claims Department and became the Secretary to the Vice-President of Underwriting. She joined Interbroker in 1993 as Marketing Officer and was promoted to Marketing Manager up to this date. She is responsible mostly for corporate accounts.

ARLENE SOSA Reinsurance Manager

After finishing college in Business Administration major in Marketing, she started work in 2000 with a top reinsurance broking outfit before moving to Corporate Guarantee and Insurance Company. She joined Interbroker in 2007 as Assistant Manager for Reinsurance. Her long years of experience in the insurance industry makes he more than capable of handling simple to complex risks that require delicate negotiating skills with local and foreign reinsurers.
